Both kids helped make these - fairly quick, great for a kid in the hospital (they're not too heavy/warm, just very snuggly), way to use up fabric, not too expensive, and pretty forgiving. L did all the inside sewing (right sides together, around the edges, leaving a hole for turning). D ran the pedal for much of the outside topstitching while I "steered." We switched and she steered on the last one, but it was hard for her to manage this much fabric. All in all, a great team effort and way to involve the kids!
Sis found this Sesame Street flannel for something like 75 cents at Goodwill - brand new, never washed, enough to make two blankies when I added backings out of my stash. The squares aren't printed quite square to the fabric, but we did the best we could:
All four - very bright, the hearts and wolves ones are about 58" long, so appropriate for an older child. All folded up neatly and ready to go to Project Linus:
That means all three June GID goals are DONE! Two days left in the month, two carryover items left - SIS may just have to pay up on her challenge, finally! (She threatened if I didn't get caught up this month, I'd have to wait till Christmas after all - serious motivation!)

Agree with Annie about the Coins quilt, and great way to use those 2.5" strips. LOVE the striped binding! Am really tickled about the kids helping, too. :-) Mom
Great progress! Finding that at Goodwill was a steal. Have you been tracking your stash-busting numbers? You've had a lot of output lately!
